Explore Spain
Why Ride an eMTB?
More trails. Bigger days. More of Spain to discover.
The morning air is still cool as you roll out of the village. Ahead, a trail climbs through the pines towards a ridge. Beyond it lies another valley, another view and a descent you’ve been looking forward to all week.
On an electric mountain bike, that ridge feels within reach. Pedal assistance helps you tackle the climb, connect more trails and make room for the scenic detour. You can spend more of your day exploring, and arrive with energy to enjoy what comes next.
Ride it. Feel it. Live it.
Discover Spain Beyond the Road
Spain opens up when you leave the main road behind. Follow mountain tracks above whitewashed villages, ride through shaded forests or climb towards open ridgelines where the landscape stretches for miles. From volcanic island terrain to rocky Mediterranean hills, each Basecamp offers a different way to experience the country.
An eMTB gives you more flexibility to explore it. A climb can become part of the adventure. A viewpoint can become a place to stop, catch your breath and take it all in. And when the route brings you back to the village, there’s time for a terrace lunch, local food and stories from the trail.
Some of the best moments happen between the places you planned to visit: the scent of pine in the warming air, the sound of tyres on dry earth, the first glimpse of the sea from high above the coast.

Feel Every Part of the Ride
You still pedal. You still choose your line. You still feel the grip through a corner and the satisfaction of reaching the top.
The motor supports your effort, and you decide how much assistance to use. Keep it low for a steady workout, add support on a long climb or save some energy for the next section of trail.
For experienced riders, that can mean more climbing and more time exploring. For those who prefer a gentler pace, it can make a mountain day feel more manageable. It can also help friends with different fitness levels share a route and enjoy more of the experience together.

Extra Support. Still a Real Workout.
There’s research behind that feeling. In a 2019 pilot study, 33 experienced mountain bikers rode the same trail on a conventional MTB and an eMTB. Their average heart rate was approximately 145 beats per minute on the eMTB versus 155 on the MTB, around 94% of the conventional bike level. Most riders reached vigorous exercise intensity on the eMTB, even though riding it felt less demanding.
The study was small and measured short rides, so it doesn’t establish equal calorie expenditure or long-term fitness benefits. Riders also completed the eMTB route faster, which means time in the saddle matters alongside intensity. What it supports is encouraging: pedal assistance can make a ride feel easier while still providing substantial cardiovascular exercise.

A great riding day starts with a route that suits you. Assistance helps with climbing effort; your skills guide you through the terrain. Choose trails that match your experience and take time to get comfortable with the bike’s weight, braking and handling.
How far you can explore depends on the route, elevation, assistance level and battery capacity. Plan a day with room to enjoy the stops as well as the riding: a village café, a quiet viewpoint or a long lunch after the final descent.
You might return having ridden farther than expected. You might simply have enjoyed every kilometre a little more. Both make a good day on the bike.
