Why Ride Pollenca / Alcudia?
Where Mountains Meet The Sea
Most mountain ranges gradually fade into the landscape around them. The Serra de Tramuntana does not. In northern Mallorca, the mountains run out of land and crash directly into the Mediterranean. The result is one of the most spectacular mountain biking landscapes in the Mediterranean basin. Here, riders navigate two extraordinary peninsulas, Formentor and La Victoria, projecting deep into the sea like giant limestone spears. Between them sits a landscape of cliff-top watchtowers, Roman roads, medieval pilgrimage routes and technical mountain trails suspended above clear blue water. This is not coastal riding. This is riding above the coast. One moment you are climbing through ancient holm oak forests. The next you are balancing across a narrow limestone ridge with the Mediterranean stretching endlessly on both sides. The emotional pull is the Double Peninsula Arena: no other destination in Mallorca offers such a dramatic combination of mountain terrain, historical depth and maritime exposure. This is the place where the mountains meet the sea, and neither side gives ground.
